Cardinal Point Promotes Director to Chief Security Officer
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA. –– Creating safer schools is a frequent topic of media outlets this time of year. While this adverse reality comes with its challenges, one firm in the Philadelphia region maintains a concentration in school safety, offering trusted protection, expert consultation, and technical solutions to aid schools in providing the safest environment.
Cardinal Point Homeland Security Group is pleased to announce a very special promotion for Mr. John Gooley, to Chief Security Officer. Mr. Gooley was most recently the Director of School Security Services for Cardinal Point. John will continue in this important role, and now oversee and administer all aspects of school security initiatives.
John Gooley is recognized as an expert in school security throughout the region. He is frequently requested to speak to parents, administrators and industry experts about school safety issues. He was appointed to the School Threat Assessment work group within school safety committee at the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. In addition, Mr. Gooley has been recently approved by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a vendor capable of completing School Security Site Assessments
Since 2017 he has served as the School Police Officer (SPO) program coordinator, overseeing the successful implementation of school security programs in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey for CPHSG.
Mr. Gooley is a retired police Sergeant with 30 years of experience and an expert in fraud investigation, personal and institutional protection, and crisis planning and management. Along the way he served as a Sergeant of Special Detectives with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, specializing in surveillance and plain-clothes drug interdiction. Mr. Gooley is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). He is an active member of the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO). He holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice specializing in Security Management from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) through the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
